Oltion Toro joined the firm in August of 2020, initially as an articling student and thereafter was hired back as a lawyer. Before joining the firm, Oltion completed the GPLLM program in Canadian common law from the University of Toronto to meet the National Committee on Accreditation requirements for becoming licensed as a lawyer in Canada.
Oltion was born in Albania and immigrated to Canada with his family. He is fluent in Albanian, English, and Romanian. Oltion obtained a four-year Bachelor of Civil Law degree from Babeş-Bolyai University, Faculty of Law, in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Oltion also holds an LL.M. degree from the University of Maastricht, the Netherlands, in Comparative law (civil vs. common law) and European law.
Oltion has over fifteen years of foreign experience in administrative law, contract law and litigation. Also, as a lawyer at the Attorney General Office (Headquarter), Oltion has represented Albania before the European Court of Human Rights and various arbitration tribunals. At Lewis & Associates Oltion is dedicated to the refugee and immigration practice. Oltion is passionate in helping people in need.
